This Lab has been investigating the interaction between cancer genetics and the microenvironment such as the metabolic environment. Siddhartha’s laboratory is based at Columbia University’s Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center. Siddhartha worked as a resident in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital between 20. In 2000, he earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. ![]() Following his graduation, Siddhartha enrolled at Harvard Medical School. for his thesis titled The processing and presentation of viral antigens. Then, Siddhartha worked on the mechanism of activation of the immune system by viral antigens. He won a Rhodes Scholarship for doctoral research at Magdalen College, University of Oxford. In 1992, he earned membership in Phi Beta Kappa and completed his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in 1993. He worked in Nobel Laureate Paul Berg’s laboratory where his role was to define cellular genes that change the behaviors of cancer cells. Siddhartha was a biology major at Stanford University. In 1989, he won the school’s highest award, the ‘Sword of Honour’. ![]()
